A NEW YEAR POEM

Madeline Tiger shares:

Let’s dream of a dreamed-of world
Madeline Tiger 1/01/07

Let the 1st eye of
your design like the
3rd eye of pyramids
or any old mystic
put a good whammy
               on
evil do-ers, that conglomerate plethora
of inepts &arrogants
and like the strong figure
you make of lines dance
the body of the eye against
abuse. Can we be hopeful?
                              Well, we must!

THOMAS FINK AND EILEEN TABIOS IN SUGAR MULE!

Sugar Mule is presenting a double issue on "collaborative textual poetry," guest-edited by Sheila Murphy. Participants include Thomas Fink and Eileen Tabios.

Sheila's Introduction makes for interesting reading; click on this excerpt for the whole thing:

Textual collaboration has not yet established a presence as a category of work, yet examples of it appear, intermingled with individual writing, within print magazines and web-based publications, including blogzines. Typically, venues characterized as avant tend to feature collaboration more frequently than relatively more traditional periodicals. As with many categorical avenues in the arts, collaborative textual writing is better characterized by examples of excellence than by theoretical arguments for its existence.
