MARSH HAWK PRESS SPRING BOOKS LAUNCH!

You are all invited to the Marsh Hawk Press Spring 2008 book launch reading and party on Thursday, April 24th at Ceres Gallery, 547 West 27th St., NYC from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Many thanks to Connie Robins for arranging our use of this space.

The books are the 2007 contest winner, Either She Was by Karin Randolph, chosen by judge David Shapiro, Clarity and Other Poems by Thomas Fink and A Woman's Guide to Mountain Climbing by Jane Augustine.

Please mark the date, invite your friends, relatives and students to come too, and encourage them to look at the website www.MarshHawkPress.org for more information on all of our books and on this year's contest to be judged by Thylias Moss.

STEVE FELLNER A FINALIST FOR THE THOM GUNN AWARD FOR GAY POETRY!

Congratulations to Steve Fellner whose Marsh Hawk Press book Blind Date with Cavafy is a finalist for The Publishing Triangle's Thom Gunn Award for Gay Poetry.

The other two finalists are Chinese Apples by W.S. Dipiero (Knopf) and Under Sleep by Daniel Hall (University of Chicago Press) The winner will receive $500.

Established in 2001, previous winners of the Thom Gunn Award for Gay Poetry are Thom Gunn for Boss Cupid, Mark Doty for Source, Greg Hewett for Red Suburb, Brian Teare for The Room Where I Was Born, Carl Phillips for The Rest of Love, Richard Siken for Crush, and Justin Chin for Gutted.

The winners will be announced on Monday, April 28 at the New School in New York City. The event is free and open to the public, with a reception afterwards.

MARSH HAWK REPRESENTED IN NEW GALATEA RESURRECTS

The just-released issue of GALATEA RESURRECTS (A Poetry Engagement) No. 9 features several Marsh Hawk Press members:
