Basil King – painter, poet. His recent books are 77 Beasts: Basil King’s Beastiary, mirage: a poem in 22 sections, and the chapbooks Twin Towers and In the Fields Where Daffodils Grow (both from his on-going project Learning to Draw/A history). In the tradition of Marsden Hartley, Baz is a painter who writes, and a writer who paints, often about other art and artists.

Michael Heller – poet, essayist, critic. His recent books are Eschaton, a collection of poems and Marble Snows: Two Novellas. His fascinating Beckmann Variations (as in Max Beckmann) is forthcoming in 2010. Look for his books at saltpublishing.com, thing.net/~grist/ld/heller.htm or at good bookstores. Mike has also collaborated with the composer Ellen Fishman Johnson.

The reading takes place in the welcoming backroom of the Sidewalk Café famed for really great hamburgers, plus vegetarian fare (mmm, panini!) and all beverages.
